Arborists are a specialist trade that climb the tallest trees and painstakingly cut them bit by bit too fell them safely allowing minimal damage to surrounding areas and the need to close roads or damage nearby properties. There maybe a Tree Preservation Order, or TPO, is usually made by a local planning authority (often the local Council) to protect a specific tree or woodland from deliberate damage and destruction. These orders make it an offence to remove, prune or damage protected trees even if they are on private land. If you want to carry out work on a tree which is subject to a Tree Preservation Order, you will need to obtain our permission. If planning permission is granted for a development, and the work will involve felling or working on protected trees, then the planning permission overrides the TPO. This is because the TPO will have been considered by the planning authority at the time the permission was granted.
If you have trees under a Tree Preservation Order and if your tree(s) is (are) diseased, dying or dangerous you can notify the local planning authority using a “five day notice” of your intention to reduce or remove the hazard by means of pruning or felling.
